VISIT JACKSON HOLE’S NATIONAL ELK REFUGE
The National Elk Refuge offers a wildlife spectacle just north of Jackson and south of Grand Teton National Park. Established as a winter feeding grounds and habitat for the Jackson Hole elk herd, thousands of elk gather here each winter.
Want to get closer to the herd? Take a sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge with Double H Bar. You'll stay warm and cozy with wool blankets as you go dashing through the herd. Buy your tickets at the Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center at the north end of town.
Though elk head north during the summer months, you can still walk, run, or drive Elk Refuge Road for great Teton views. The road also offers great access to National Forest trails and favorite local camping spots.
